Cookie policy

The cookies and storage used by the cdel.lu website.

Last updated: 26/09/2026

In short

The cdel.lu website uses no advertising cookies, no audience measurement cookies and no social media cookies. That is why no consent banner is shown.

The only cookie: the chat conversation

  • Name: cdel_chat_session
  • Purpose: to find your conversation with CDEL again when you change page or come back (strictly necessary for the chat service you asked for).
  • Only created when you start a conversation in the chat; never otherwise.
  • Duration: 30 days. It cannot be read by page scripts (httpOnly), is only sent over a secure connection (Secure, SameSite=Lax) and only to cdel.lu.

Storage in your browser

The website uses your browser's session storage (deleted automatically when you close the tab):

  • cdel_chat_state_v1: the display of your conversation, only if you use the chat;
  • cdel_stats_s: a random visit identifier for statistics (no lasting identifier);
  • cdel_stats_q: statistics events not yet sent.

Two optional settings can be kept in your browser's local storage, only if you ask for them: cdel_stats_off (opting out of statistics, ?cdel_stats=off) and cdel_internal (the “CDEL internal device” flag used by our staff, ?cdel_internal=1). The website uses no IndexedDB, no offline cache and no service worker. No cookies are used for statistics.

External links

The WhatsApp buttons and the OpenStreetMap link take you to those services, where their own cookie rules apply. No content from these services is loaded into our pages.

Deleting the cookie

You can delete the cookie at any time in your browser settings; the chat will then start a new conversation. Questions: info@cdel.lu.
